~ Savoring the Universe in a Single Grain ~
In this workshop held in Berlin, we explored the sacred and profound world of rice—the soul of Japan. It was a beautiful journey of sharing and connection, where we honored the grain through all five senses.
-The Ritual of Cooking | Ceremony of the Donabe
We gathered around the Donabe (traditional clay pot) to learn the art of awakening the vital energy of premium Japanese rice. The time spent awaiting for the fragrant steam to emerge became a shared meditation, bringing every participant into a state of quiet harmony.
-Plain Bliss | The Purity of Flavor
The experience began with savoring the freshly cooked rice in its simplest, most honest form. Together, we discovered the natural sweetness and the unique, powerful character inherent in every single grain.
-The Tactile Joy of Musubi | Connecting Through the Hands
Participants experienced the warmth of the rice directly through their palms while shaping Onigiri (rice balls). This process, known as Musubi (to tie/to connect), allowed us to rediscover the primitive joy of crafting our nourishment with intention and touch.
-Miso Soup Anywhere | Wisdom for Daily Life
We shared the secret to a simple, soul-warming Miso soup that restores the body and mind instantly—requiring only hot water and a moment of peace. It was our gift of "practical wisdom" for participants to carry into their busy daily lives.
